March or Die follows the true story of Maine and Berg, two desperate men who enlist in the French Foreign legion to escape execution. Through the brutal violence of basic training, and the relentless and oppressive regime of the Legion, they are reluctantly and grudgingly moulded into true leaders of men and exceptional soldiers. Culminating in the historic battle of Camaron, Maine and Berg rally a small force of Legionnaires and hold off and defeat over 500 Mexican soldiers. In a battle that is revered and established the French Foreign Legion as one of the fiercest fighting forces in the world. To this day, it is tradition that any soldier passing the ruins of Camaron in Vera Cruz must offer a salute.
